$23.6M Bridge Construction Project Starts In Area

$206 Million to Improve New York Highway Network for Freight Transport

$206 million in new State and federal funding has been committed to improve the safety and optimization of freight goods movement across the state of New York.This funding, provided in support of the 1,200 highway miles in New York State designated as part of the National Highway Freight Network, is targeted toward infrastructure and operational improvements that the state says strengthens economic competitiveness, reduces congestion, decreases the cost of freight transportation, improves reliability and increases productivity. Read More >>

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo Announces $206 Million for Freight Projects

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has announced $206 million will be devoted to freight-related projects across the state.The funding, announced Aug. 2, will support the 1,200 highway miles the state has designated as part of the National Highway Freight Network. The projects bolstered by this funding will address infrastructure and operational improvements in order to reduce congestion, improve reliability and productivity and decrease the cost of freight movement. Read More >>

Transportation Infrastructure Bill Advances In Senate

A key Senate committee approved a five-year, $287 billion bill to reauthorize a major transportation infrastructure program that includes a number of provisions that will impact the waterways industry. Advanced by a 21–0 vote of the Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee, Senate Bill 2302, America’s Transportation Infrastructure Act of 2019, was described in historic terms by supporters partly for its 27 percent increase in authorized spending over the current levels in the law that expires next year. Read More >>
